Simposium Expanded Education organized by Zemos98 Festival and Juan Freire

11th edition of Festival Zemos98 (Sevilla, Spain) will offer a simposium on Expanded Education, organized in collaboration with researcher Juan Freire.Expanded Education proposes to see Education as something that happens anywhere anytime, inside and outside of an academic institution. This event intends to consider another way of looking at education, beyond of the institutional and academic level.

It will take place from the 22nd to the 29th of March 2009 in Sevilla. It will analizes new ways of education which are part of an adaption to the social an communicational processes derived from internet. The new digital culture is based in networking, colective work, the convergence of media, copyleft, etc. Most of the processes are not part of the conventional systems in education, therefore the education is not happening at formal spaces, neither is lead by the educative institutions. There are many artistic, scientific, communicational and educational projects which are defining the new education of the 21st century.
